The HPL Makerspaces have two types of equipment that are not operated by library members: 3D printers and laser cutters.

For a list of HPL locations offering 3D printing and laser cutting services, please see our Makerspace Equipment List.

To request a 3D print, please use the Makerspace Appointment Request Form to book a one-hour appointment to slice your 3D object file using a Makerspace computer. Please bring your file, saved in a .stl format, with you to the appointment on a USB storage device. Payment for your print will be required before printing. Once your file is sliced, Makerspace staff will print your object and contact you once it is ready to be picked up.

To request a laser cut, please use the Makerspace Takeout Request Form to submit your file along with any instructions or important details. Makerspace staff will contact you when your request is ready to be picked up.

Important Policies

  • You will need a HPL card to submit a takeout request. If you need a card, register for a free eCard online
