Kobo devices rely on the Kobo Catalogue to sync borrowed eBooks from HPL collections. A book borrowed through Libby/OverDrive will only sync to a Kobo if the same edition is available in the Kobo Catalogue and the ISBN matches.


To Check if a Book Will Sync

  1. Open the book details in Libby or OverDrive by clicking the title.
  2. Copy the book’s ISBN.
  3. Search the ISBN in the Kobo Catalogue.
  • If the same ISBN appears in the Kobo Catalogue, the book should sync to the Kobo.
  • If the ISBN does not appear or does not match, the book will not sync.


To Get an Unsynced Book onto a Kobo

  1. Download and install Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) on a computer.
  2. Authorize the computer with an Adobe ID.
  3. Download the borrowed eBook to the computer.
  4. Open the book in ADE and transfer it to the Kobo device.
